Portfolio Director, Merchandising and Supply Chain Locations: Dallas, TX or Akron, OH (Hybrid) POSITION SUMMARY: The Portfolio Director, Merchandising & Supply Chain is a senior leadership role within Signet’s Digital & Technology organization responsible for overall portfolio health, financial management, project governance, and successful execution across the Merchandising and Supply Chain technology portfolio. This leader will oversee multiple project managers and portfolio resources, ensuring projects and ongoing business-as-usual support are delivered with strong accountability, disciplined financial oversight, and measurable business value. This role requires a self-motivated, highly accountable leader who operates with honesty, transparency, and a commitment to the greater good of the team. The Portfolio Director must be able to drive change, influence across functions, and partner closely with Solution Directors and their teams to plan, govern, and execute multi-million-dollar initiatives while maintaining strong business continuity for critical Merchandising and Supply Chain capabilities. The successful Portfolio Director will be a trusted partner, disciplined operator, and change leader who balances delivery execution with financial stewardship. This leader will be expected to create clarity in complex situations, proactively identify risks, elevate the right decisions to leadership, and hold teams accountable while maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment. The role requires someone who is energized by transformation, committed to continuous improvement, and motivated by contributing to the success of the broader Merchandising & Supply Chain organization. RESPONSIBILITIES: Portfolio leadership: Lead the overall portfolio management function for Merchandising & Supply Chain within Digital & Technology, including intake, prioritization, planning, delivery tracking, risk management, reporting, and governance. Financial management: Own portfolio-level budget management across capital, expense, forecasting, reconciliation, and funding requests; partner with Finance, Vendor Management, Procurement, and leadership to ensure disciplined financial controls and visibility. Project and program oversight: Oversee multiple project managers and ensure project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions are actively managed across strategic initiatives and operational workstreams. Delivery accountability: Maintain overall accountability for successful project execution and ongoing business-as-usual outcomes, including status reporting, issue escalation, stakeholder alignment, benefits tracking, and post-implementation stability. Solution delivery partnership: Partner closely with Solution Directors and their teams to define scope, estimate resources, align priorities, support solution delivery, and remove roadblocks that may impact delivery timelines, budgets, or business outcomes. Executive communication: Develop and deliver concise, executive-ready updates for senior leadership, including portfolio health, budget position, project status, risks, dependencies, decisions needed, and value delivered. Governance and controls: Establish and reinforce consistent portfolio management practices, tools, templates, reporting standards, SDLC expectations, project controls, financial review cadences, and operational readiness routines. Business partnership: Build trusted relationships with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, Digital & Technology, and cross-functional partners to ensure portfolio decisions align with business objectives and enterprise priorities. Change leadership: Drive transformational change across people, process, and technology by helping teams adopt new ways of working, strengthening accountability, and ensuring stakeholders are prepared for change impacts. Team leadership and development: Lead, coach, and develop project managers and portfolio team members; set clear expectations, provide feedback, support career growth, and foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement. Operational excellence: Ensure ongoing support, business continuity, and production readiness remain a core focus alongside project delivery, particularly for critical Merchandising and Supply Chain systems and processes. Vendor and contract coordination: Partner with Solution Directors, Procurement, Legal, Vendor Management, and external partners to support statements of work, vendor deliverables, contract timelines, and cost management. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology portfolio management, program management, project delivery, IT leadership, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-million-dollar technology portfolios, including capital and expense budgets, forecasting, reconciliation, funding requests, and executive-level financial reporting. Proven ability to lead multiple project managers or program leads across complex, cross-functional initiatives. Experience partnering with solution delivery teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and senior leaders to deliver large-scale technology or business transformation initiatives. Strong understanding of project management, portfolio governance, SDLC practices, Agile and waterfall delivery methods, operational readiness, and production support needs. Ability to translate complex project, budget, resource, and risk information into clear executive updates and decision-ready recommendations. Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence without direct authority. Demonstrated ability to operate independently, prioritize competing demands, and drive accountability across teams. High integrity and professionalism, with a strong commitment to honesty, transparency, team success, and enterprise outcomes. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting Retail, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Distribution, Inventory Management, or related enterprise systems. Experience with portfolio tools, project reporting platforms, JIRA, Confluence, , financial planning workbooks, or similar portfolio management and reporting tools. Experience supporting technology transformation programs, operating model changes, vendor-led implementations, core system modernization, or business process harmonization. PMP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or related certification preferred but not required.
